Wow!! Finally!! Storm Warrior is back!! The first episode was 11 years ago!! I remember I love this movie so much!! Rewatch it in VCD again and again. Can't help. You know, kids always like to do that. Haha.. But seriously I miss the movie so much. Each characters was unique and the storyline was so creative and memorable. Especially 黎耀祥 as 泥菩萨. I always think he is a very good actor. Especially when I saw him in TVB Journey to the West. Big congratz to him lately for getting best actor in TVB award ceromony. By the way, back to Storm Warriors, I believe there're a lot of people out there waiting to watch this movie. Here is the trailer!!

Interesting right? This time it will be directed by the Pang's brothers. I was looking forward to it when I first heard they'll be the director. As we all well known, the Pang's brothers were known famous at making ghost movies. From their first movie "The Eye" were good, scary and good storyline. Not to mention they help our Malaysian actress Li Xin Jie become an Asia well known famous actress. And the movie before Storm Warriors II by the Pang's brothers was 鬼域 by Li Xin Jie as well. That movie was not bad, and the CG was good too, if compare to other Hong Kong movie CG. And I remembered watching The Eye II by Shu Qi, the CG was nice! Especially when the way of ghost's hair floating. I like it :-P So I have quite high expectation on this movie. However.... IT DISAPPOINT ME A LOT!!!

The CG was really good, it can be declared as the best CG in current Hong Kong movies, or any other Chinese movies nowadays. U try compare with the pirated China Transformers movie and you'll know the difference =.=" But still it's not good enough if compare with Hollywood of course. I've heard that it was film in indoor blue screen for all the scenes in the movie. It makes me feel narrow all the time. It was like not enough space to fit all the actors and actress in there. Unlike the first episode there're still some real outdoor set which have a nice view and large. They should have use the nice space and view in China well instead of depending on CG all the time. It makes me feel tension and uncomfortable. Besides, I heard people said they have copy the way movie 300 filming the war part. I can't comment much on these as I have not watch 300 before.

Talk about the characters. As we all know, the character Cloud is still Aaron Kwok and Ekin as Wind. However, the character Chor Chor has been changed. It used to be Shu Qi who are much more better than the "vase" now in the new movie. She was so "kalefeh" and her existance in this movie was pointless.. Not to mention Ah Sa as Dream in this movie. This is the new character which doesn't show up before in the first movie. But the director didn't explain well who she is.. She just show up suddenly and it looks like she have something with Wind and we don't know what is their relationship all about!!! I heard from my friend who is the comic fans of Storm Warriors only I know that she is his wife! As for the movie are they married or not, I'm not sure. I guess they haven't. =.=" and the villain this time is 绝无神 which, the non-comic-reader audiences don't know who he is at all!! Just know that he was strong and invincible.. And show up suddenly to conquer China by capturing the Emperor. Oh ya, I've almost forgotten, Nicholas Tze was in this movie as well, as the villain's son. Well, what I can say is his existence was pointless as well. I almost forgot that he was in the movie =.="

Then you all know la, after I mention what that villain did. Of course he was trying to take over China and wanted to be a legend in the wushu world and become the Emperor. And then our super hero Cloud and Wind were the only hope. LAME!!! Actually, the true point of this movie was not the villain, he died easily and fast. =.=" The real backbone (a weak backbone this is) of this movie is the "epic" fight between Wind and Cloud. Where wind become evil because wanted to use the power of the evil forces to defeat 绝无神. Actually it was no need, because Cloud learn Kung Fu from 无名 in 3 days and become very powerful as well =.= he invented the new sword strategic. Talk about this, it was funny. About how Cloud sifu try to think a name for this new strategy. He invented a new Chinese word as well, but the director make it as his sifu is uneducated and simply invented a word to foul Cloud. This scene was actually exist in the comic but the director delivered it badly!!! Sweat..

Talk about the "epic" fight, the director really was overused the slow motion! If they remove all the slow motion I think the movie duration will be shorten about 30 minutes =.=" Even when Ah Sa got punch into the face they made it slow motion. I'm really speechless.. And the fight between Cloud and Wind were dragged so long! It was like an endless fight and it makes me feels sleepy! And the two famous sword, 绝世好剑 and 雪饮狂刀, although they appear a lot, however they have lose the power back there in episode one! They were used as like a normal sword only! Not to mention Cloud's exclusive technique 麒麟臂 wasn't used at all! If I haven't watch back the first movie I can't remember he changed his arm before into this powerful arm. And Cloud's technique that control water and attack enemies with water were appeared only ONCE in the movie, which looks like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix where Dumbledore used the giant water ball to attack Voldemort =.="
AND! They've also copy Spiderman! There was a scene where Cloud use something like spiderweb to tied up the bad guy =.="


Last but not least, the storyline of this movie is already so weak, but their dialogue were weaker! All the dialogue were so simple and it was like kids dialogue! Especially Chor Chor and Dream these two "flower vase". They were like 风大哥 and 云大哥 ALL THE TIME! Makes me frustrated and wanted to slap them.

I rate this movie 4/10 for great CG.
The CG was really the best among Hong Kong movie industries. However, the storyline were so weak, and the directors delivered the story badly. Disappointed.
Looks like I better watch back the first episode instead to remind me my passion towards Storm Warriors :(

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Time for another movie review! This time is movie that everybody talking about - The Twilight Saga: New Moon. What I can say about this movie is, the advertising done extremely well, everybody is talking about it, especially Fly FM. They have been discussing about this movie for over a week! Some said nice, but most of the listeners and DJ said that it's bad!! Well, as for me, it's not good. Not until sucks but still, below my expectation. Why? Well as my tradition in this blog you might have already know, I'll post the trailer first... :P

As some of you might have heard in Fly FM, the Rush Hour DJ criticize this movie badly! Especially the actress Kristen Stewart as Bella, was totally sucks! They even came out with a contest called "Can you be a better Bella?" that require listeners to call in and act as Bella because they think EVERYONE can be a better Bella. Not to mention the bad storyline of the movie itself!

In the first movie, Twilight, I heard that it was a low budget movie as they never expect this movie to sell good when it hit on the Cinema. Obviously, this movie was popular was just because of Edward, not Robert Pattinson, but Edward. Do you guys think that Robert Pattinson really is that SO good looking? I don't think so, there are more good looking celebrities compare to him. As I heard it from my friend, the author of the Twilight novel describe Edward is the most perfect man in the world that makes girls so crazy about this novel. After I've watched the first movie, it was actually so so, however it was so popular, so I reckon the novel must be nicer and considering to buy the book for read. Luckily, one of my Harry Potter novel's fan friend urge and warn me so seriously that the book were totally "for girls only" and told me that the book were popular just because of Edward. Well I think she is right.

As the new moon came out, what I've heard from people discussing, were just Edward and Jacob good looking. About how Jacob have such great and beautiful body shape this and that. I've even saw my friend wrote in Facebook "why so many people like to watch half naked guy running in the big screen?!". Those who don't crazy about Edward and Jacob said that the movie were boring, that they always talk talk talk and there were less fighting scenes or visual effects stuff. Well that I'll ignore as I'm not the "visual audiences". Come on, this is a romance movie, what do you expect? Werewolves fighting Vampires for 2 hours?

So what do I expect from this movie? I was actually expecting some touching or memorable romance story instead of the fighting scenes. However, it really disappoint me so much. The love story between Edward and Bella, 0% touching, the single love from Jacob towards Bella, 0% touching. One of the reason, is because of Bella were so bad in acting! She looks like heart attack when she were crying in the forest!! Throughout the whole movie, while Edward leaving Bella behind, there were no one shed of tears from her. And Bella acting selfish about how she treat Jacob as a spare tire, I can't feel the bad feeling towards Jacob at all. What I see from this movie, were actually just SELLING HALF NAKED GUYS REALLY!!

Besides, the storyline itself were just sucks! A vampire leaving a human he love because he though that was the best way to protect her, and the girl acting stupid and being reckless just wanted to see the vampire, and when she were disappointed she turn to the werewolves instead, and then she turn back to the vampire when she knows the vampire was in danger. Lame and pointless =.=" Not to mention when Edward though that Bella was dead, he almost exposed himself just want the vampire committee (I don't know exactly what the committee were =.=") to kill him. What a misleading act to teach the youngsters! And it was totally pointless!! When you heard some story like that, about how a guy can't live without a girl he loved, it was suppose to be touching, but honestly, totally 0% touching.. I felt nothing at all. LAME!!!

The only thing I can give compliment to this movie is they didn't affect by the movie trend nowadays were people were just looking for visual effects, CGI, and massive explosions. That's the only good thing that I can think of this movie =.="

I rate this movie 4/10
No idea how this kind of story can get best selling novel.. My younger sister is one of the fan =.="

It's movie review again.. Haven't write one in 2 months. I've already skipped few movies like, Surrogate and Michael Jackson's This Is It.. :P Been busy for last 2 months. Today, movie that everyone were waiting for - 2012

I've got 2 free movie tickets from OCBC Bank for this movie. My dad gave it to me as he can't make it for Saturday afternoon movie. OCBC Bank has taken the hall 10 in GSC Gurney Plaza for their clients, and with free popcorn and drinks for each person ^^



Well, another dooms day movie, end of the world. Getting bored with dooms day movie, so if this one didn't do anything epic it's gonna be a failure. Luckily, it was epic. As you can see from the trailer, great and impressive CGI effects. However it was still a popcorn movie.

What do I normally expect from a dooms day film? Actually, from the trailer, I didn't expect much. Knew that it would be a popcorn movie, so the thing I expect was actually simple, seeing many people run for their lives and get killed, earn audiences sympathy and make people feels sad and think. At least send a message to audiences that we must love our earth, appreciate what we have now and appreciate our loves one. It was actually a very common facts that we can see in a dooms day film, but not this one. All I get from this movie were just temporary entertained by the visual effects and temporary excitement.

2012 were mostly focus on how the world destroyed. The world I mean doesn't mean any living creature, but the buildings, and the land. Mostly what you can see were buildings and earth collapse. Believe it or not, you can't see much human dead body from this movie. They were too focus on how the main characters run for their life and makes me feels that, there were not much people get killed although the whole United State were destroyed. :P

Other than that, the humanity part, they were focus on how ugly human can be when they were tried to survive. Government selling tickets to survive for those rich person to get on to the arc. However, if you really wanna see how ugly human can be, you better watch District 9 instead of this one. This movie were actually using old storyboard and old techniques, which usually we can guess what will be happened next. As you know, most of the time when came to the end of the world sure they'll be politicians selfishness, a bad guy to create climax bla bla bla.. Boring..

Besides, the movie doesn't really have any logic. Not because of the way how earth doomed, but because of the main character were far too lucky! Each time he were just seconds from being killed, it was like the earth waiting him to run before it collapsed. I know these can create climax and make audiences felt nervous, however.. not logic lor.. And if every movies using same technique to create the exciting scenes, wouldn't you feel bored and expectable? And I must give compliment on this, the main character, Jackson, really good in running, his speed of running can beat the cracking earth, must nominee him to Olympics sure get Champion. Even a guy that only attend for few weeks pilot lesson can drive the plane SO WELL! That they manage to escape from a collapsing building.. Not to mention a plane can took off in a such short distance track! For those who watched the movie, you know what I mean right? **sigh**

In a nutshell, 2012, a movie that everybody were waiting for, has disappoint a lot of people. Yes, it was quite entertaining, however, it was not a memorable movie that inspire the audiences.
The director doesn't use the Mayan prophecy about 2012 well as many people were now paying attention to it. This prophecy were just touch and go in the movie =.=" This cause that the movie wasn't convincing at all.

If you just want to seek for visual effects, you can go for it, otherwise, better save your money, this movie if it wasn't watched on big screen it was nothing.
Therefore, I rate this movie 5/10 for the temporary entertained and temporary excitement and awesome CGI..

Gizwiz Halloween Party

It was Halloween!!! I've never attend any Halloween Party before this. I've always wanted to do something on Halloween! Attending a costume party.. Guess what I would be if I can choose what costume to wear on Halloween! Some of you might have already know! YES! CORRECT!! Lord Voldemort!! The Dark Lord! He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named! However, too bad this time I can't choose what I want to be! :(

We prepared this party 3 weeks ahead. Before Kenneth and Esther left, they have to trace rats, bats and spiders, print out from the computer, and cut out all the rats, bats and spiders. Then Jasmine and Andrew went to buy some spiderweb, and small Halloween plastic pumpkin, and some materials for us to decorate. Me and Ding Ren's job was less difficult. Doesn't need much designing skill. We have to make a huge spider to hang at the ceiling, make ghost with some cloths and balloons, hanging some stuff here and there. My expertise was hanging spiderweb. I can make a nice and real spiderweb! This were the outcome!







Of course, not to mention, our decoration supervisor, Ms Tee, her responsibility was think and design the main entrance, which was the most important because that was the first impression for our guests. So, this was her sketch..


And Ding Ren do the magic!!


Tada!! Impressive huh?! Hardly imagine, our programmer Ding Ren have a nice handcraft, cut and join all the houses with a few pieces of cardboards (branded cardboard bought by Jasmine, must be expensive because it were really thick).


When the lights off, and add some lighting behind the castle.. Spooky huh~~


Besides, we have a runway stage! For a fashion show.. Kenneth getting excited when he heard this, he love to imitate Project Runway..
So, with this deco, this time is going to be a big party huh! We've invited about 20 guests. And what are we going to play this time?

This time (Jasmine's plan), there was a costume competition. Previously all our parties were just wii tournament, which our Jasmine think it wasn't fair because most of the time girls lose cause they were not that good in console game, and because she said we were "pakat" at the Moon Moon Celebration and cause her lose the game and have to wear a weird costume (made by herself) and distributing moon cake along Gurney Drive! And so, this party was also known as "Gizwiz Halloween Party - Revenge of the Queen"!!! Scare huh? So what was her revenge plan? Yes, this time was her field! Design!! Costume design!! Argh! Nightmares for me and Ding Ren cause we were both programmers! Not to mention Zing round a big round to curse me!

So what's the punishment this time? Distributing gifts at Upper Penang Road, WITH THE LOSER COSTUME! BOTH THE MODEL AND DESIGNER!

Rules:
Each of us have to draw and see who will be our model, and draw for what you gonna dress up your model, with only the materials provided, we were not allowed to bring our own materials, and we were only allowed to complete our costume in the office.
My model, was Jasmine! And I'm suppose to dress her up as an Axe Man!


TOO BAD!! My designer, Esther, HAVE A VERY BAD LUCK! BECAUSE, SHE HAVE TO DRESS ME UP!! AS A SEXY PRINCESS!!! Thundershock T.T I couldn't accept this, IF (touch wood) I lose, I HAVE TO GO TO UPPER PENANG ROAD AS A SEXY PRINCESS!! Oh my god, took me a week to accept the reality. I can dress up as whatever costume, ghost, Vampire, Dracula, Lord Voldemort, Werewolves, ANYTHING! But not a "ah kua" T.T This is really serious because it will affect my dignity T.T I even have insomnia 2 nights before the party.

And then, there was a wii tournament a week before the party, the highest mark get to choose from the limited materials provided, which included MONEY! There were 3 RM10 waited to be picked. Fortunately, I won the wii competition, first place, and so I picked a RM10, and an axe for my Axe Women, Jasmine. And so the competition begun, we have a week to prepare and make the costume.
With that RM10, I bought brown color cloths 2.5 meter for the top, black color cloth 1 meter for the mask, a black rubber glove, and I still have RM3.50 left..

and so this was the first stage of my costume..


Boring huh!! I was freak out!! WORRIED!! And thanks for Andrew and Jasmine on giving me advice what I should add on to make it looks interesting, plus with my creativity.. I bought more materials with the RM3.50, yellow gold glass paper, shinning powder, and shinning moon and stars..

FINALLY!! The big day is here.. 30th October 2009.. Guests started to arrive around 7pm, and all the models were starting to make up while the guests enjoying the food!!
